Cervical spondylitis and cervical spondylosis are both disorders that affect the region surrounding the neck and shoulder. It develops as a result of wear and tear of the cartilage and bones of the cervical spine (area around the neck), which might extend to the shoulders and arms.

In case of cervical spondylitis, patients experience inflammation and stiffness in their vertebral joints, leading to neck pain. In extreme cases, patients may find it difficult to move their neck and shoulders at all. Cervical spondylosis, on the other hand, sees degeneration of the spine that leads to fusion on the vertebral column at the neck area. Patients experience abnormal wear and tear of the cartilage and spine bones. Its symptoms include severe pain in the neck, shoulder, arm, back (in some cases), muscle weakness, stiffness, cracking sound on moving the neck or shoulder, gait dysfunction, loss of balance, and loss of bowel and/or bladder control, in chronic conditions.

All of us experience neck and shoulder pain for one reason or the other; however, its severity increases with age. Cervical spondylitis / spondylosis is more common among people above the age of 50, specifically men. Common treatments for the pain include NSAIDS, corticosteroids, and topical solutions like gels, massages, and hot or cold packs.

Of these, painkillers come with their own set of problems and it’s never advisable to become overly dependent on them. Gels and massages might bring temporary relief from the pain, but are hardly reliable when it comes to long-term pain management.

This is where Spondin comes in. It is a great remedy for management of cervical spondylitis/ spondylosis and relieving its associated symptoms. A study conducted on the efficacy of Spondin showed relief in 95% of the subjects who were suffering with severe neck pain.

What makes Spondin such a wonderful remedy for neck and shoulder pain? The secret lies in the seven powerful herbs that go into making this homeopathic medicine. While each is a powerhouse of benefits, when combined together, they work to bring relief from the symptoms associated with cervical spondylitis / spondylosis.

Here are the seven ingredients of Spondin that are making life so much easier for you and acting as an effective cure for cervical pain.

Colocynthis vulgaris (Tamahak): Colocynthis vulgaris is a great remedy for constrictions and contractions experienced all over the body and is, thus, useful in treating cramps, twitching and shortening of muscles, headaches, and especially pain radiating to right side of neck, shoulders, arms, and hands.

Ruta graveolens (Common Rue / Herb-of-grace): Native to the Balkan peninsula, Ruta graveolens acts on the periosteum and cartilages indicated by pain in nape of neck and back.
Hypericum perforatum (St. John’s Wort): This flowering plant acts on nerve endings, releasing pain, compression, and inflammation in the nape of the neck radiating to arms and fingers.
Ledum palustre (Marsh Labrador tea / Wild Rosemary): A beautiful flowering plant, the wild rosemary is used as a remedy for stiffness in the neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands.
Solanum dulcamara (Bittersweet nightshade): Also known as poison berry or poison flower, it brings relief from stiff neck, pain in the small of the back, and shooting contractions in shoulders and arms.
Conium maculatum (Poison hemlock): Although considered to be a poisonous flowering plant, it’s used to fight tension, stiffness, and pain in the nape of the neck and between the shoulders that is caused by friction in the cervical vertebrae.
Cuprum metallicum (Copper): This mineral is used to control hyperesthesia of the spinal column and twitching of the muscles of back and neck.

For Spondin to act as an effective cure for cervical pain, it’s important to follow the recommended dosage – 15 drops of Spondin in a quarter cup of water, three times a day. In cases of acute pain, increase the dosage to 20 drops and have it every four hours till the condition improves.
When we are in pain, our natural instinct is to look for relief from it. However, reaching for medicines that ease the discomfort temporarily is not the right thing to do. It’s important to look for a more permanent solution that not only brings pain relief, but also targets the root cause of the problem.
Spondin is one such remedy that has proven its ability in fighting cervical spondylitis and cervical spondylosis. Not just I, but other doctors have testified to that too. After all, the best medicine is one that works not against, but with the body’s own healing system, and Spondin manages to do just that.
